Dan McBride is an award winning, Brooklyn-based Cinematographer and Editor.
Ever since he first got his hands on a camera he has been creating short films and his passion for visuals and filmmaking has taken him all over the world.
Recent Film Work
Dan is the Cinematographer and Editor behind the critically acclaimed series DOOMSDAY, which was Emmy-nominated and also won "Best Series" at ITVFest (Sponsored by HBO) and "Best Pilot" at the Hollyweb Festival (Sponsored by AMC). In addition to being a Streamy nominee and a finalist at the 2017 Sundance Episodic Lab, Dan (along with creator and co-director Sonja O'Hara) was nominated for "Best Director" by the 2018 Indie Series Awards.
Dan also took home the "Best Cinematography" award in 2017 for his work on the short film The Transition of Juan Romero, directed by Whitney Ellis, at the Escape Velocity Film Festival.
He was the Cinematographer and Editor of OVUM (2017) an indie feature film written by Sonja O'Hara and directed by Matt Ott. It was released last year through Random Media onto Itunes and VOD, and won "Best Picture" at the Big Apple Film Festival.
When he's not shooting and editing narrative fiction films, Dan has been spotted in the mountains of Belize shooting an adventure race for the NBC-Universal Sports Network, shooting documentary footage for women's rights organizations in Brazil and Ireland, and shooting fashion films and music videos all over NYC.
As a commercial DP, he has been behind the camera shooting promos for Glamour Magazine, Toyota, Regent Cruise Lines, Lucky Charms, and many more. He has helmed stop-motion animation campaigns for Tide, Wal-Mart, and Benzal, and shot web content for Expedia and American Express.
As an editor he works with too many NYC ad agencies to name.
